In response to New York City sending a group of migrants to a second city in Westchester, local officials are coordinating with nonprofits to make sure the new arrivals are met with help and support. rea Enforcement Crackdown Includes Arrests In Westchester
Individuals from four Hudson Valley counties were among 118 people from southern New York arrested for violating U.S. immigration laws during a five-day crackdown in mid-January by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The detail, called "Operation Cross Check," was conducted in New York City, Long Island and the Hudson Valley from Jan. 14-18. Gas Prices In New York Highest In Four Years For Fourth Of July Holiday
Prices at the gas pump dropped a cent in New York over the past week, but motorists planning on traveling for the Fourth of July will see a four-year peak in prices during the holiday. With one of the busiest travel holidays just days away, statewide gas prices dropped a cent over the week, though national prices are up two cents from a week ago, up to an average of $2.86 per gallon.
