Woman Pinned Under Live Power Lines Following Crash Into Utility Pole In Area
Residents were without power for more than three hours after a woman slammed into a utility pole in the area.
The crash took place in Ulster County around 8:06 a.m., Friday, Oct. 23, when Tara Benn, 49, of Catskill, slammed into the pole in Saugerties, causing the vehicle to become binned under severed live power lines, said pole.
When officers arrived they found Benn still in the vehicle under the live power lines, said Saugerties Police Chief Joseph A. Sinagra.
Once the power had been cut, firefighters were able to free the Benn who then declined to be treated by paramedics at the scene…
Rockland Man, 56, Killed In Single-Vehicle Crash
A 56-year-old man was killed during a single-vehicle crash in a wooded area.
The crash happened in Rockland County on Grandview Avenue, just west of Union Road, in New Hempstead, was reported to Ramapo Police around 9:21 a.m., Tuesday, May 12.
Responding officers discovered a Wesley Hills man dead inside the vehicle, said the Ramapo Police.
The crash, which closed Grandview Avenue for more than four hours, is under investigation.

Missing Hudson Valley Woman, Fiancée Found Dead Inside Wrecked Car, Police Say
Police have found a vehicle with the bodies inside of a Hudson Valley woman and her fiancée who have been missing since April.
Stephanie Mayorga, 27, a Dutchess County native, and her fiancée, 25-year-old Paige Escalera, of Wilmington, South Carolina, were discovered in the vehicle crashed deep in a wooded area on Monday, May 4, said the Wilmington Police.
Mayorga, of Beacon, moved to Wilmington in March to be with Escalera. The Daily News, reported the two moved into an apartment together and had only lived there about a week before they went missing.
