Father, Daughter Accused Of Assaulting Person In Region After Verbal Altercation
A father and daughter from the region have been charged with allegedly assaulting viscously attacking another person.
The incident took place in Sullivan County around 10:20 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 9 in the town of Mamakating.
According to Trooper Steven Nevel, state police from the Wurtsboro barracks responded to a residence on Hamilton Road in the town of Mamakating for a report of an assault.

One Killed In Palisades Parkway Crash
A Hudson Valley man was killed during a two-car head-on crash on the Palisades Parkway.
The crash took place in Orange County in the town of Highlands around 4:45 a.m., Thursday, June 16.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 1998 Toyota Corolla, driven by Hugo Vasquez, age 67 from Spring Valley was traveling southbound in the northbound lane when he struck a 2006 Toyota TC head-on, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
Vasquez was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Nevel said.

46-Year-Old Killed In Rollover Crash On Area Roadway
A 46-year-old area man was killed in a rollover crash on an area roadway, police said.
Orange County resident Daniel P. Sullivan, age 46, of Campbell Hall, died around 8:15 p.m., Monday, March 14, following the crash on Sarah Wells Trail in Campbell Hall, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
When troopers arrived on the scene, they found a 2015 Honda Accord off the roadway and on its roof, Nevel said.
An investigation revealed that the car was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a rock causing it to flip over, Nevel added.

Man Who Shot At Troopers In Area Charged With Attempted Murder, Police Say
A Hudson Valley man who fired at New York State troopers during a domestic dispute and was in return shot by troopers has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer.
Orange County resident Patrick Hermanowski, age 39, of Westbrookville, was charged on Tuesday, Sept. 14, and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
According to Nevel, the incident took place around 2:50 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 12, when troopers and the Deerpark Police responded to a 911 call in Westbrookville.

A 3-year-old is in critical condition following a crash over the weekend that left a woman dead and at least three others injured.
The crash took place around 8:30 p.m., Saturday, July 17, on Route 32 in Orange County in the town of Cornwall.

Missing Boater Found Dead In 60-Plus Feet Of Water In Area Lake, State Police Say
A boater who had been reported missing was found dead by state police in 63 feet of water in an area lake.
Rikheil Patel, age 31, of Kauneonga Lake in Sullivan County, was reported missing on his boat on Tuesday, May 25, to New York State Police.
Patel was reported last seen leaving a restaurant along on his boat on Sunday, May 23 around 1 p.m., said Trooper Steven Nevel.
His boat was located offshore on Tuesday, Nevel said.

An area man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a home and stealing a slot machine containing $20,000 in quarters and a shotgun.
Ulster County resident Dominick Sanchez, 20, of Ellenville, was arrested by state police on Wednesday, Dec. 9, for burglary following an investigation into the Thursday, Dec. 3 incident, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
