Crash Causes Hours-Long Road Closure In Rockland County A serious traffic crash in the Hudson Valley is causing an hours-long road closure. The crash occurred in Rockland County early on Friday, Sept. 13, on Route 45 in Ramapo. According to the Ramapo Police, Orange & Rockland Utilities will close Route 45 at Rensselaer and New Hempstead for the next 8 to 12 hours while working on repairs.  The department is asking drivers to plan an alternative route. There is no word from the police on the status of any injuries.  This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Man Accused Of Biting, Assaulting Deputy After Crash In Hudson Valley A man has been charged with allegedly biting and assaulting a deputy attempting to arrest him following a crash in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County, in the town of LaGrange, at around 12 a.m. on Monday, July 29. According to Captain John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, Jordon A. Robin, age 27, of Poughkeepsie, was charged in connection with an auto accident investigation and subsequent assault. One Killed In Chain-Reaction Route 22 Crash A 51-year-old man was killed and three others hospitalized in the Hudson Valley following a chain-reaction crash, according to authorities. New York State Police troopers in Dutchess County launched an investigation into a fatal crash that was reported at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30 on State Route 22 in Dover. Police said that the initial investigation determined that Pawling resident David Elwell was driving a 2012 Hyundai Accent northbound on Route 22 near North Nellie Hill Road when he entered the southbound lanes for unknown reasons. Man Charged With DWI After Allegedly Leaving Scene Of Crash In Area A 61-year-old man was arrested for alleged DWI after leaving the scene of a traffic crash, according to authorities. Ulster County resident Arthur W. Caston, of East Kingston, was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 11, after the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, responded to a two-vehicle crash on Frank Sottile Boulevard, said Lt. Abram Markiewicz.
