Video: Water Main Break Causes Road Closure In Ramapo
A water main break in Ramapo caused damage to a busy roadway and forcing its closure. Forshay Road is closed between Parker Boulevard and Grandview Avenue in Ramapo, the police department announced early Friday afternoon, Aug. 9. According to police, the water main break caused the road to buckle, leaving a large crevice in the turning lane. The roadway is closed as Suez makes repairs, and motorists in the area have been advised to seek alternate routes.

Five students in Westchester and Rockland counties have earned SUEZ-NAWC scholarships worth $3,000. Suez To Invest $440 Million In Water Quality, Service Improvements
Water and waste management provider SUEZ is investing a total of $440 million over the next five years to provide an enhanced customer experience and make improvements to service and water quality. SUEZ serves almost 500,000 people throughout Rockland, Westchester, Orange, Putnam and Tioga Counties. The plan was initially filed with the New York State Public Service Commission Monday, March 4. Water Main Break Causes Closure At School In Rockland
A water main break has closed down a northern Rockland County elementary school in Thiells. Willow Grove Elementary School on Storrs Road was closed on Tuesday, Jan. 22 due to a water main break, the Northern Rockland School District announced. Officials said a pipe burst leading up to the water meter outside the school on Storrs Road, prompting the closure. Instead of reporting to Willow Grove, students were told to report to the Fieldstone Middle School on Fieldstone Drive in Thiells for classes. The cause of the break has not been disclosed. Extends $1 Lease Agreement On Stony Point Town Pool Property
SUEZ and the Town of Stony Point announced an agreement this week to extend a land lease by 20 years on a 42-acre parcel used by the town for its pool. The $1 annual lease allows the town to continue to operate the pool on the 42-acre property until 2038. The lease agreement has been in place since 1984. Under the terms of the new agreement, the town is responsible for all activities related to the maintenance of the property and facilities. Updated: The Rockland County Department of Health lifted the boil water alert at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - A water main break in Sloatsburg has led to a “boil water” order for some residents that may last as long as a week, according to a SUEZ spokesperson. The “boil water” order was issued on Thursday morning, and SUEZ said customers affected will be notified when it is lifted.
