A popular Northern Westchester third-grade teacher, Josephine “Josie” Calvaruso, has died at the age of 52. Calvaruso attended school in the Bronx and graduated from Fordham University with her bachelor’s in philosophy, her obituary said. Soon after, she received her master’s from Fordham in teaching. A Westchester County resident and longtime owner of a successful local business has died at the age of 75. Michael DiGuglielmo Sr., of Bedford, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 13, according to his obituary. He was born in Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1955, his obituary said. Blood Drives To Be Held In NY In Effort To Save 4-Year-Old Boy With Leukemia
A number of blood drives are being held in the area this month in the hope of saving a Long Island 4-year-old with leukemia. Nassau County resident Ayden Paredes, of Glen Cove, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia on Feb. 7 of 2021, according to Mark Paredes, Ayden's father. Ayden has been receiving chemotherapy treatments and blood transfusions since then, but doctors are now saying he needs a blood stem cell/bone marrow transplant to save his life, Mark said. Sexual Abuse Charges Against Former Westchester Priest Dismissed
Charges of sexual abuse have reportedly been dropped against a former Westchester County priest who was charged with allegedly engaging in inappropriate behavior by a minor. Rev. Thomas Kreiser, who was accused of abusing a 10-year-old girl while serving at St. Joseph’s parish in Bronxville had the charges dismissed, according to reports. Westchester Priest Under Investigation For Inappropriate Behavior With Minor
A Westchester County priest is currently under investigation for engaging in inappropriate behavior with a minor, church officials said. The Rev.
