IDs Released For 5 Family Members Killed In Murder-Suicide In Quiet Suburban NY Neighborhood
The identities have been released for five family members who were killed in a murder-suicide in a residential Long Island community. The incident happened just before noon on Sunday, Aug. 25 at a residence on a cul-de-sac in Syosset. Nassau County Police say officers who responded to the residence on 76 Wyoming Court for a report of shots fired discovered a man outside the home who "sustained an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound." Hudson Valley Man Charged After Firing Shotgun At Car Following Dispute
A Hudson Valley man was charged with menacing after allegedly firing a shotgun at a car following a dispute. The incident occurred in Rockland County in Tomkins Cove on Thursday, Feb. 15, on West Shore Drive. According to Lt. Daniel Schoales of the Stony Point Police, an investigation found that Matthew Hoyt, age 42, of Tomkins Cove, fired at least two rounds from a shotgun at a vehicle that was fleeing the scene after a dispute. A Hudson Valley gun buyback event collected 67 guns, including four assault rifles. The annual event was held in Rockland County in Spring Valley on Thursday, June 6.
