Police reported their third DWI arrest, all stemming from intoxicated motorists unintentionally off-roading, with two crashes resulting in rollovers in Rockland, in the span of a week. In the most recently-reported incident, Ramapo Police officers responded after 911 callers notified them of a vehicle that had allegedly driven off the road at approximately 12 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22 to East Eckerson Road in the Hillcrest area of Ramapo. Three Rockland Businesses Charged With Selling To Minors In Underage Detail
Three clerks at Rockland County businesses were busted during an undercover sting operation selling alcohol to minors. This week, the Ramapo Police Department and Rockland County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children conducted a compliance check of area businesses, using undercover operatives under the age of 21 to purchase booze without proper ID. After Motorcyclist Injured In Route 59 Crash
A woman allegedly driving while on drugs is facing charges after hospitalizing a motorcyclist and attempting to leave the scene, police said. Late on Saturday, Dec. 22, officers from the Ramapo Police Department were dispatched to Route 59 in Airmont - near Walmart - where there was a report of a hit-and-run crash involving a woman in a car and a motorcyclist. Police said that it was determined that a car was traveling east on Route 59 when it pulled out and struck the motorcyclist, pushing it across the road into the westbound lane. Suspects On The Loose After Armed Robbery Of Route 59 Verizon Store
Two suspects are on the loose following an armed robbery at a Verizon store in Rockland County. Two suspects wearing hooded sweatshirts and ski masks entered the store at 214 Route 59 in Airmont, displayed a knife and ordered the clerk to open the safe, Ramapo Police said. The suspects then fled the area in an unknown direction. RPD was assisted at the scene and in the search for the suspects by the Rockland County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit, the Rockland County BCI Unit, Rockland County Chopper 1 as well as the Suffern and Spring Valley Police Departments. Haverstraw Man Nabbed Illegally Dumping Black Top On Airmont Property
A Rockland County man is facing criminal charges and thousands of dollars in fines after illegally dumping blacktop in a vacant lot on Route 59 in Airmont. Officers from the Ramapo Police Department were dispatched to the vacant lot shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, where there was a report of a man illegally dumping refuse in the area. An intoxicated Rockland County man took police on a short chase late on Thursday night, attempting to flee through a restaurant parking lot before coming to a crashing halt when he struck a fence and flattened his tires, police said.
