New Update: Drenching Downpours Wash Away Parts Of Busy Roadways In Hudson Valley
Multiple roads in the Hudson Valley remain closed Monday, July 10, and Metro-North service was reduced after torrents of rain sent vehicles floating, created sinkholes, and flooded homes. A state of emergency was issued In Orange County by Gov. Kathy Hochul and Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus issued an executive order banning all vehicles and pedestrians from roads in the Town of Highland until 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 10. Bones Found On Hiking Trail In Hudson Valley, Police Say
An investigation was conducted after bones were discovered on a Hudson Valley hiking trail. The bones were found in Orange County in the area of Route 218 on Saturday, Oct. 15 on a trail in the town of Cornwall at Storm King State Park. According to Cornwall Police Chief Todd Hazard, after the discovery, the department contacted the state park police as well as the Orange County Medical Examiner's Office for examination. ID Released For Man Killed In Helicopter Crash Near Mountain In Hudson Valley
The identity has been released of a man who was killed in a helicopter crash in the Hudson Valley. The crash happened in Orange County in the town of Cornwall at about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10 near Storm King Mountain and Route 218. The pilot of the helicopter, Long Island resident Arthur Charych, age 73, of Setauket in Suffolk County, was pronounced dead at the scene, New York State Police announced Monday morning, Oct. 11. There were no passengers on board. The helicopter he was operating was a 2007 Robinson R44 Rotocraft, said police. The investigation is ongoing. …
