7-Eleven Is Testing Stores Without Cashiers In Select Markets
An app may be replacing traditional cashiers at some 7-Eleven locations across the country. The retail giant announced it is testing out stores that will not require cashiers in an effort to improve speed and convenience for customers. The pilot program began in Irving, Texas, though 7-Eleven is expected to roll it out to more stores throughout the year. Cleanup In Aisle 3: Stop & Shop Begins Robot Rollout
Robots are rolling in the aisles at Stop & Shop stores across the region. The supermarket chain's parent company, Ahold Delhaize USA, announced in January plans to place robots in Stop & Shop stores to support efficiency and safety in the stores. The robots are named Marty and their job is to call attention to hazards like when liquid, powder and large foodstuffs spill, then report when action to fix the problem is necessary.
