Man Stabbed By Co-Worker On Route 59, Police Say
Ramapo police arrested a Paterson man after he stabbed a co-worker during an argument at a warehouse in Hillburn. Officers responded to a call for a fight in progress at the warehouse around 1:30 p.m. Monday at 230 Route 59, according to Ramapo Police. Upon their arrival, a 41-year-old employee at the warehouse told officers he had been stabbed by another employee, police said. Officers arrested Ahmed Masha, 20, of Paterson, and charged him with the felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon. A 16-year-old Franklin Lakes girl was struck and killed by a commuter train in Clifton early Sunday, NJ Transit confirmed. Former Mahwah HS Art Teacher Charged With Having Sex With Student
A former Mahwah High School art teacher was charged with having sex with an underage student there. Joshua Green, 33, of Clifton, was charged with sexual assault, official misconduct and child endangerment. A Superior Court judge in Paterson freed him, pending further court action, after a detention hearing Thursday afternoon. The teen was a 17-year-old student at Mahwah High School when at least one of two incidents occurred at Green's home in 2015, authorities said. STONY POINT, N.Y. -- Federal grand jurors indicted an accused accomplice of an admitted Stony Point heroin dealer in connection with an organized ring that distributed pounds of the drug in Rockland, Bergen and Passaic counties. Driver, 25, Killed When Tree Falls On Car On Merritt Parkway
A 25-year-old motorist from New Jersey was killed Friday afternoon when a large tree fell on his car on the Merritt Parkway in Fairfield County amid the damaging Nor'easter. Jonathan Rodriguez-Melendez of Hawthorne was traveling southbound near the Stamford-Greenwich border south of Exit 33 at about 1:20 p.m. amid rain and severe crosswinds when the tree fell on his Mini Cooper, Connecticut State Police said. Services for Wallington's Sylvia Lubak have been set. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Warner-Wozniak Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be Thursday at The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Paterson followed by a private cremation. A man wanted on a felony charge in New Jersey was apprehended by New York State Police troopers in Dutchess County after he was stopped during a routine checkpoint on I-84. A Warwick couple who authorities said sold a 25-year-old overdose victim the heroin that killed him can't be prosecuted for causing a drug-induced death, a judge in New Jersey ruled.
