Parole Of Man In Rape/Murder Case Of Two Northern Westchester Women Sparks Outrage
Found guilty of the rape and murder of Sheila Watson and Bonnie Minter while their children were within earshot at their Northern Westchester home in Lewisboro in 1978, the now-68-year-old Sam Ayala was granted parole in mid-March and could be released as early as Thursday, Sept. 3. Ayala lived in Fairfield County at the time, in Norwalk. More than 5,000 have signed a Change.org petition urging New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo to keep Ayala behind bars. Paroled Killer Of 16-Year-Old Ordered To Stay Away From Rockland As Pataki Appeals To Cuomo
One of the two men convicted of killing Pearl River 16-year-old Paula Bohovesky in 1980 who was granted parole has been ordered to stay clear of Rockland County and has been banished to upstate New York. The New York Attorney General’s Office told a judge that Richard LaBarbera has been reassigned to a parole officer in Buffalo when he is released from prison this week. LaBarbera was also ordered to steer clear of Bohovesky’s mother, Lois. Initially, LaBarbera was to be assigned to a parole officer in Peekskill. An area state senator is calling on New York's Parole Board to re-examine and deny parole for the convicted murderers of 16-year-old Paula Bohevesky in 1980. In October 1980, Richard LaBarbera and Robert McCain attacked Bohovesky, an honor student who was picked up off the street a few blocks from her Pearl River home. She was “brutally” beaten, stabbed and left alone to die in a pool of her own blood with her clothes strewn about. Ex-Cop To Be Released From Prison 20 Years After Fatal Shooting Outside Deli In Westchester
A longtime Westchester County resident and former New York City police officer will be released from prison on Jan. 7, 2019, after serving nearly 20 years behind bars for killing another man. Richard DiGuglielmo, now 53, was convicted for the 1996 shooting death of Charles Campbell over a parking spot in front of the DiGuglielmo family deli in Dobbs Ferry, according to lohud.com. Officer Calls On Cuomo To Debate GOP Challenger Molinaro
The widow of murdered New York City Police Officer Joseph Piagentini, whose assassin was given early release and voting rights by Gov. Andrew Cuomo earlier this year, called out Cuomo on national television on Monday, Oct. 15 for refusing to debate his opponent, the Republican county executive of Dutchess County.
