Editor's note: The MTA Police updated the age of the man killed to 48 on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The identity has been released of a man who was killed after being hit by an MTA train. ID Released For Woman Struck, Killed By Train In Westchester
Metro-North officials have identified the woman struck by a New Haven Line train in Westchester. Aurelia Franchitti, age 21, of Woodside, in Queens, was fatally struck after stepping in front of an eastbound train at Rye Station around 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28, officials said. Officials said at this early stage in the investigation, the incident does not appear criminal or accidental in nature.

19: Metro-North Announces Schedule Changes For Hudson Valley Riders
Metro-North will be restoring some weekend service lines for Hudson Valley riders as New York continues navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic. The MTA announced that beginning on Monday, April 12, weekend service will be returned to Wassaic and include service adjustments on the Harlem Line weekday schedule to accommodate track work. Officials said that beginning on April 12, Metro-North will begin replacing the track switches north of the Hartsdale station. Metro-North trains will be temporarily suspending service as the rate of snowfall during the Nor'easter has become heavier, creating potential travel hazards. Person Struck, Killed By Metro-North Train
A person was killed after being struck by a Metro-North train overnight. The incident happened in Westchester County shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, just south of the Port Chester station, near the Kohl's Shopping Center. After trains were initially held at the scene, New Haven Line customers experienced delays of 45 to 50 minutes, according to Metro-North. Tropical Storm Isaias: Metro-North Suspends Service Due To High Winds, Hazardous Conditions
The gusty winds, falling trees, and wild weather brought to the region by Tropical Storm Isaias has forced Metro-North to suspend service due to the hazardous conditions. The MTA announced that Metro-North service on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven Lines is currently suspended as of 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 due to high winds and the conditions caused by the storm. 19: Here's When Latest Metro-North Schedule Change Starts
As ridership continues to plummet to historic lows amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the MTA announced it will once again be altering the schedule for Metro-North trains. Beginning on Monday, April 13, Metro-North will operate on an hourly schedule on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines during both the weekdays and weekends. The Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines will remain on Saturday schedules, with hourly service at some points of the day. Teen Dies After Being Hit By Metro-North Train In Westchester
The 16-year-old boy who was struck by a Metro-North train in Westchester has died, according to MTA officials. The incident took place at the Pelham station around 5:45 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, when the teen was struck, said Aaron Donovan, spokesman for Metro-North. The teen was rushed alive by emergency personnel to an area hospital where he later died, Donovan said. Following the event, New Haven Line rush-hour trains were delayed by up to 50 minutes as a result. The woman hit and killed by a Metro-North train on the Harlem Line in Westchester on Sunday has been identified. Susan Singer, 57, of Ossining, was hit around 7 a.m. between the Hawthorne and Valhalla stations, said MTA officials. Initial delays of between 30-40 minutes were down to 10-15 minutes by 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Service was back to being on or close to schedule later in the morning. Metro-North Experiences Hours-Long Delays

Metro-North experienced delays into and out of Grand Central Terminal due to a speed restriction resulting from track work starting at the tail end of the morning commute and continuing into the early afternoon. In a statement issued just before 8:30 a.m., Metro-North advised customers on the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines to listen for announcements at local stations.
