Brush Fire Ravages 19 Acres On Palisades: Firefighters Battle Blaze Amid Statewide Restrictions Firefighters are battling a 19-acre brush fire that erupted Thursday night, Nov. 7, on the cliffs of the Palisades Interstate Park.  Visible from across the Hudson River, the blaze has turned the scenic cliffs into an intense battle zone, with flames licking at the steep, rocky terrain and sending plumes of smoke billowing into the evening sky. Major Brush Fire In Hudson Valley Spreads Smoke For Miles A major brush fire over at least a dozen acres in the Hudson Valley produced smoke that spread across the New York border into Connecticut. The blaze broke out at around 12:05 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in Putnam County in the area of Route 301 and East Boyds Road in the town of Kent and was finally contained late in the day on Sunday, Oct. 27. Update: Fierce Fire Ravages $3M Tenafly Home 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: A fierce fire blew through a $3 million Tenafly home Friday night. Everyone got out OK and no injuries were reported after the fire ignited on the first floor near the back of the Hudson Avenue home off County Road shortly before 8:30 p.m. June 14. It quickly went to three alarms and then, later, a fourth for coverage. Firefighters had the bulk of the blaze knocked down within a half hour, then remained until 11 p.m. or so dousing hot spots. Video: Mahwah Firefighters Rush From Rockland Brush Blaze To Local House Fire Mahwah firefighters were helping their colleagues from Hillburn, Sloatsburg and Tallan douse a brush fire in a remote wooded area of Rockland on Sunday when a house fire broke out nearby in town. The fire, which originated in the kitchen, was quickly knocked down, although it did cause some damage. Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from Ramsey, Franklin Lakes, Allendale, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River and Suffern. No injuries were reported.
