Mary Bendlin, 91, Port Chester Native, Nurse In Orange County Mary Webster Bendlin, known to her family and friends as “Scotty,” died on Nov. 11 at the age of 91 in Kissimmee, FL.  She was a retired registered nurse employed in Orange County at Horton Memorial Hospital in Middletown for 35 years and was Head Nurse of the OB/GYN Department before retiring in 1985.  Born and raised in Port Chester, Mary graduated from Port Chester High School in 1946 and the Westchester School of Nursing in 1949. White Plains Native, Korean War Veteran Otto "Lee" Liepin, 92 Otto “Lee” Liepin, 92, died on Monday, April 1 in the Lutheran Community at Telford, PA. He and his beloved wife Joan (Getty) Liepin celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary in October. Born in White Plains, he was the son of the late John and Liza (Eglit) Liepin. Lee was eternally proud of his Latvian heritage. He was a graduate of White Plains High School and a 1946 graduate of the New York State Maritime Academy. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, he served his country from 1949 to 1951. He was a member of the American Legion Warren Royer Post #234 in Souderton, PA. Liepin was an …
