Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade To Return 'Live' This Year
The Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade is returning to the streets of New York City for its 95th celebration after being curtailed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Macy's made the announcement on Wednesday, Sept. 8, saying the parade will be delight crowds once again on Thursday, Nov. 25 beginning at 9 a.m.
This year's parade will feature the signature mix of giant character helium balloons, fantastic floats, marching bands, performance groups, celebrities, clowns, and the one-and-only Santa Claus, Macy's said.

Victim In Danbury Mall Shooting May Have Been Involved In Melee, Police Say
A 15-year-old who was shot inside a Fairfield County mall was likely part of the altercation that took place between at least eight people with another group, according to authorities.
The teen, who remains unidentified, has been transferred to Connecticut Children's Hospital and is in stable condition, said Danbury Police Chief Patrick Ridenhour. Police had originally reported her age as 16.
The shooting took place around 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11, near the entrance to Macy's at Danbury Fair Mall, Ridenhour said.

Covid-19: Macy's To Furlough Most Of Its 130,000 Workers
Having lost most of its sales amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Macy's says it will furlough most of its workforce of 130,000, which includes its subsidiary retailers Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury.
Macy's made the announcement on Monday, March 30, about two weeks after all its stores closed on Wednesday, March 18 due to the outbreak.

Covid-19: Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom To Close All Stores
Three of the nation's largest retailers -- Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom -- will be closing their stores temporarily due to the spread of the novel strain of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Macy's said it would close all stores, including Bloomingdale's locations, at the end of the business day on Tuesday, March 17 through Tuesday, March 31. That's the same time frame for Nordstrom's scheduled closure.

The Kohl’s Plaza on Route 59 in Nanuet has reportedly been sold to a private investor for more than $27 million.
The 157,218-square-foot plaza sits on 15.8 acres of property, according to loop real estate firm Loopnet. Current tenants at the plaza include Kohl’s, 94,260-square-feet); Rockland Music Center (2,500); Mattress Firm (5,175); Sally’s Beauty Supply (1,500) and GameStop (1,750).
Bob’s Discount Furniture (37,380-square-feet) - also in the same plaza, was sold last month to an LLC associated with Patrick Magee of MBC Contractors.

Trio Caught Shoplifting $1.1K Worth Of Merchandise From Macy's
Three people were nabbed for allegedly shoplifting more than $1,000 in merchandise from the Yorktown Macy's.
Channon Powell, 35, of Newburgh, Maurice Williams, 38, of Monticello, and Evelyn Cruz, 32, of Wallkill, were arrested on Monday, Oct. 28, after police received a report of a grand larceny theft from Macy's, said the Yorktown Police.
After receiving the report, Yorktown officers spotted the suspect's vehicle on Route 6 and stopped them on Mahopac Avenue, police said.

Macy's To Close Seven Stores, Cut 5,000 Jobs
Department store chain Macy's announced the locations of seven store closures as well as plans to eliminate 5,000 jobs.The latest move comes after a slight uptick in holiday sales in which Macy's reported a 1 percent boost in sales in November and December compared to the same period last year.
