2 Suspects Posing As Law Enforcement Nabbed In Hudson Valley $27K Phone Scam
Two suspects from New Jersey posing as law enforcement authorities in New York were nabbed after allegedly scamming residents out of $27,000.
The Hudson Valley incident occurred in Dutchess County on Tuesday, June 18, and Wednesday, June 19.
According to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, Vivek B. Shingarakhia, age 24, and Kishan Gajera, age 31, both of Jersey City, in connection with the investigation into a phone scam that was reported to the Sheriff’s Office, Wednesday, June 19.

Ulster County resident Hameem Khan, age 21, of Rosendale, and Talha Khan, 27, of Jersey City were charged with 26 related offenses following the raid in New Jersey at 159 Mallory Ave., in Jersey City, according to sources with direct knowledge.

An international ring of identity thieves stole $1.3 million worth of vehicles and watercraft from dealerships in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania, using fraudulently obtained digital driver's licenses, authorities charged.

A stolen vehicle from Rockland County was recovered in New Jersey with help from several police agencies.
The vehicle, an Audi A4 was stolen in South Nyack on Tuesday, Jan. 5, from the driveway of a home on Glen Bryon Avenue, said South Nyack-Grand View Police Chief Daniel Wilson.
Later Tuesday afternoon, Wilson said the vehicle, which was allegedly unlocked when stolen, was recovered in Jersey City, New Jersey, and, after processing, was returned to the owner.
