Don't Be Alarmed: Indian Point Siren Test Scheduled In Westchester
A test of the Indian Point sirens is scheduled for multiple counties in the Hudson Valley.
On Wednesday, Nov. 2, the sirens will be tested around 10:30 a.m., according to Westchester County officials.
The test will involve sirens in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, and Orange Counties, according to officials.
"The siren sounding is ONLY A TEST. No action by the public is necessary," county officials said.

Indian Point Unit 2 To Shut Down Permanently After 45 Years
One of the two remaining operating reactors at Indian Point in Northern Westchester will be shutting down for good this week.
Entergy announced that Indian Point Unit 2, located in Buchanan, will shut down its reactor on Thursday, April 30, as scheduled, after more than 45 years. The final reactor, Unit 3, is scheduled to shut down by April 30, 2021.
