Strong Storms With Heavy Rain, Lightning, Gusty Winds Moving Through Area
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are sweeping through the area late Tuesday afternoon and will continue through the evening. The isolated storms are moving from the west to the east. (See radar image above.) Some of the storms will have brief periods of heavy rain, winds gusts up to 40 miles per hour and lightning. The storm chance continues through around midnight. Severe Storms With Gusty Winds, Heavy Rain Moving Through Area
Several bands of severe thunderstorms have started developing in the area late Sunday afternoon.The storm activity is expected to continue through the evening, with the storms, moving from west to east, accompanied by strong, gusty winds and heavy rain. The satellite image above shows storm activity at 3 p.m. Showers and thunderstorms will become likely during the evening, with the storm chance lasting until midnight. Get ready for a stormy evening commute on Tuesday.A cold front passing through the area is expected to bring thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rain, potentially damaging winds with large hail also possible, the National Weather Service says. Scattered thunderstorms could bring heavy rain and strong winds to the area, according to the National Weather Service. The thunderstorm chance begins early Thursday evening and will continue through 2 a.m. Friday. Friday will start with a slight chance of showers in the morning, followed by the possibility of another round of thunderstorms in the afternoon on a day in which the high temperature will be in the low-80s. A storm system will bring heavy rain to the area with thunderstorms possible overnight and throughout the day on Wednesday.Steady rain is expected to arrive around 1 a.m. Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
