64-Year-Old Killed In Hudson Valley Crash When Truck Crosses Center Lane, Police Say A man from the region was killed in a Hudson Valley crash when his vehicle was hit by a 2006 International truck that crossed the center line for an unknown reason, police said. Woman Found Dead In Hudson Valley Apartment After Fire Police are investigating an apartment fire that killed a 56-year-old woman in the Hudson Valley. Troopers in Orange County responded to a building fire on Robbins Road in Mount Hope at about 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, New York State Police. Local fire departments quickly extinguished the blaze. During a search of the building, a tenant, identified as Shaun Schiffinger, was found dead in her apartment, police said. Pilot Reports Engine Failure Before Helicopter Crash The pilot of a 1989 Bell 222A helicopter that crashed in the area said the chopper experienced an engine failure causing the crash and for the helicopter to overturn. The crash took place around 12:38 p.m., Saturday, March 30, near 77 Youngblood Road in Bullville, just west of I-87 in the Town of Crawford in Orange County.  The six onboard, five passengers, who were celebrating a birthday, and the pilot, suffered minor injuries, Crawford Police said.
