Hudson Valley Man Stabbed Multiple Times During Assault
A Hudson Valley man is recovering after being stabbed multiple times during an assault. The incident occurred in Orange County around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, in the town of Wallkill. According to Wallkill Police Lt. Robert McLymore, officers responded to an assault at 265 Route 211 E. and found a 64-year-old Middletown man. The man, who has not been identified, was stabbed multiple times and was rushed to Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown by the town of Wallkill EMS. McLymore said Det. A man was captured in the region after allegedly scamming a woman out of $36,000. The incident occurred in Sullivan County on Wednesday, May 1 in the village of Liberty. According to Chief Steven D'Agata of the Liberty Police, the department received a call from a 76-year-old resident who said the money had been taken from her as part of an elaborate scam. A tornado touched down in New York during a potent storm packed with damaging gusty winds accompanying a cold front last week, the National Weather Service has announced. A damage survey determined the timing to be around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28 in Broome County about 10 miles north of Binghamton in the hamlet of Castle Creek. It had an estimated maximum wind speed of 100 miles per hour. The tornado tracked 0.61 miles, with a width of 150 yards. Funeral details and a statement from the family have been released after five women returning from Umrah in Mecca, Saudi Arabia were killed on Interstate 81 on Tuesday evening, Jan. 16. The women "were on their way back home from the Dulles airport," their family told Daily Voice. They were struck dead by a tractor-trailer at the 199.3-mile marker in Scott Township, approximately 12 miles north of Scranton, troopers detailed in a release. A New York man out on parole was busted for allegedly stealing a 2018 Chrysler 300 and "rifling" through other vehicles in the area. Broome County resident Michael J. Mackawgy, age 24, of Binghamton, was arrested on Saturday, Jan. 22 around 11:15 p.m. by the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office after deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. State Police are looking for an area man who allegedly violated the conditions of his parole by possessing drugs. State Police said that Ryle Keesler, 22, was arrested in October of 2018 in Sullivan County for third-degree possession of a controlled substance.
