Beloved Firefighter Dies After Over 25 Years Of Service In Hudson Valley
A Hudson Valley fire department is mourning the loss of one of its active members who served his community for more than a quarter of a century. The death of Robert "Link" Linkenhoker was announced by Putnam County's Brewster Fire Department on Wednesday, Oct. 16. His age and cause of death were not made public. According to the department, Linkenhoker joined the department in 1998 and continued serving up to his death. Beloved Northern Westchester Business Owner Dies At 69
A community is mourning the loss of a Hudson Valley woman who once owned two popular businesses in Northern Westchester and was known for her love of crafting. Putnam County resident Diane Callahan-Caro of Brewster died on Friday, Jan. 19 in Newark, New Jersey at the age of 69, according to her obituary. Born in Morristown, New Jersey in 1954, Callahan-Caro went on to graduate from Lakeland High School in Shrub Oak in 1972 before earning her bachelor's degree from Briarcliff College. Former Detective Sergeant From Northern Westchester Dies: 'Always There To Help'
A former detective sergeant from Northern Westchester who was dedicated to helping people any way he could has died. Joseph Cindrich of Somers died on Thursday, March 16 at the age of 69, according to his obituary. Born in 1953, Cindrich began his policing career with the Rye Police Department in 1978, serving there for two years before then joining the New Castle Police Department in 1980. Former High School All-County Football, Basketball Standout In Westchester Dies
George Taranto, a Connecticut resident and former high school sports standout in Westchester County, has died at the age of 77. According to his obituary, Taranto, of Danbury, was a graduate of Ardsley High School and was all-county in football and basketball. He served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1965. Taranto worked as a buyer for Bayer Aspirin in Tarrytown for more than 35 years. He also loved to hunt, fish and golf.
