Syracuse University men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim made his first public appearance three days after the SUV he was driving struck and killed a pedestrian on Saturday, Feb. 23. Boeheim was back on the bench coaching the Orange in a 75-65 nationally televised loss to No. 1-ranked Duke at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. Worker Killed After Falling Into Mixing Machine At Area Cheese Company
A 41-year-old man was killed after falling into a mixing machine at the Icco Cheese Company in Rockland County. The incident took place around 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15 at the plant on Olympic Drive in Orangeburg, said Orangetown Police Sgt. James Sullivan. When officers arrived on the scene of the accident they were directed to a mixing machine where they found a male employee, Edwin Nunez, of Paterson, New Jersey, inside of the machine, Sullivan said. Man Injured After Train Hits Car In West Nyack
One person was injured after a northbound CSX train hit a car Saturday morning in West Nyack. The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. at the Pineview Road crossing, Clarkstown Police said. The male driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to Nyack Hospital with minor injuries, police said. The investigation will continue to determine the cause of the accident, according to police.

The ages and hometowns have been released of the four people critically injured when a drunk driver backing out of a parking space hit two vehicles before continuing in reverse and slamming into the front of Enzo's Restaurant in the Village of Mamaroneck. A 20-year-old saxophonist in the Garden State Jazz Orchestra died due to injuries sustained snowboarding at a Pennsylvania resort Thursday, reports say. Euna Shin of Piscataway suffered head injuries after falling at the Blue Mountain Resort in Lower Towamensing Wednesday, the New York Post reports. Shin was wearing a helmet and her death was ruled an accident, the article says. The orchestra remembered the Rutgers University sophomore as a "vibrant, ambitious and brilliant young woman."

Garnerville Driver Behind Wheel Of Truck That Struck, Killed NJ Actor
A 34-year-old Garnerville driver was behind the wheel of a box truck that ran over and killed a local New Jersey actor after he tripped and fell in a northwest Bergen County parking lot Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. Thomas Morrissey, a 56-year-old father of three and grandfather of one, was walking through the lot when he tripped, fell and was run over by a 2016 Chevy box truck, police said. Police are reporting that an 88-year-old Hudson Valley resident who was clearing snow was hit and killed by a falling tree as one of the largest storms to hit the area in years moved through the area. MAHWAH, N.J. -- Firefighters cut a driver out of a sedan that rolled over Saturday night in Mahwah. The driver was hospitalized after firefighters secured the Chevy sedan and removed the roof just after 6:30 p.m. crash on MacArthur Boulevard. There was no immediate word on the extent of injuries.
