Intermittent Traffic Stoppages To Affect Route 133 In New Castle: Here's When Those who hate sitting in traffic for long periods should watch out for planned intermittent stoppages on a busy Northern Westchester road.  A series of 15-minute traffic stoppages on Route 133 between Henry Place and Route 9 in the town of New Castle are planned for Wednesday, Sept. 11, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.  The stoppages will last between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Wednesday, officials added.  They will allow for overhead wire work in the area.

Driver Injured In 2-Car Crash In Front Of Historic Hudson Valley Manor A two-car crash in front of a historic Northern Westchester manor-turned-museum caused injuries, firefighters said.  The incident happened in Croton-on-Hudson on Saturday, Sept. 7 at around 7:20 p.m., when two vehicles collided in front of Van Cortlandt Manor on South Riverside Avenue, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department.  Arriving fire crews dealt with a fluid spill from one of the cars while EMS treated a driver injured in the crash.  Both vehicles were later towed away, the department said. The cause of the crash was not released.

Concerned Citizen Helps Catch Duo Accused Of Robbing FedEx Driver In Port Chester Two suspects were apprehended after stealing packages from a FedEx driver in Westchester and threatening a concerned citizen who tried to catch them, police said.  The incident began on Monday afternoon, Sept. 9, when a citizen in Port Chester saw two suspects steal from a FedEx driver making deliveries, according to the Port Chester Police Department. The citizen followed the suspect's vehicle and tried boxing them in to stop them from leaving. However, the suspects took out a handgun and threatened them, police said. SUV Crashes Down Embankment In Hudson Valley A driver was hospitalized after their vehicle plunged down an embankment in the Hudson Valley.  The crash happened in Putnam County on Saturday, Sept. 7, when an SUV crashed into the woods at around 1:40 a.m. in the area of Nicholas Way in Mahopac, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department.  Arriving fire crews found that the driver had managed to escape the vehicle on their own after the crash. 2 Top-Prize Winning Lottery Tickets Sold At This Yonkers Store Two storefronts in Westchester County cities sold top-prize-winning lottery tickets on the same day, officials announced.  The two winning Take 5 tickets, each worth $17,052.50, were sold at stores in Yonkers and New Rochelle for the drawing on Wednesday, Sept. 4.  The stores that sold the tickets were revealed to be R. C. Variety at 154 North Ave. in New Rochelle and O'Dell Stationery at 1034 North Broadway (Route 9) in Yonkers.  As for the names of the lucky winners, those were not made public.
