The seven top Junior Pee Wee teams from around the country advanced to nationals and the Orangetown Patriots placed first in the national finals. In addition, the team won the highest stunt score of the day out of all age groups around the country, said Coach Karen Paletta.

"Their performance of 2:30 was their best ever and the coaches and girls felt great about their effort," Paletta said. "However, there were several other very impressive teams so the result of the scores and place was uncertain until the awards ceremony."

The 31 athletes on the team, family and friends were thrilled and still enjoying their title of National Champions, she added.
