Nyack School District Seeks New Board Member

NYACK, N.Y. -- Interested members of the Nyack School District have been called upon by the Board of Education fill a school board seat left vacant former Trustee Dan Kaplan.

The Nyack School District's Board of Education has invited the public to submit applications to kill a seat on the board for the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year.

Anyone interested in the seat must by at least 18 years old and a citizen who is qualified to vote in the district, according to a Nov. 2 letter written by the board. Letters of interest must be submitted to the district clerk's office along with a resume by Nov. 13.

The board hopes to appoint the selected candidate by Nov. 17, according to the district's letter. The person selected to fill the seat will serve out the remainder of the school year, which ends on June 30.
