White will represent the Rockland County Conference of Mayors as well as Nyack, which operates its own municipal water company
According to past reports in lohud, the county created the task force in 2014 to put together a comprehensive water policy.
Part of the reason for the policy plan was to avoid the need for a $150 million water treatment plant on the Hudson, the lohud report said.
According to the village’s website, Nyack's water department draws water from the Hackensack River, which begins at the five-billion-gallon Lake Deforest Reservoir just slightly north of its treatment plant.
