Cuomo Plan Aims To Freeze Tappan Zee Toll Until 2020

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. – Gov. Andrew Cuomo Wednesday proposed spending $1 billion to freeze tolls on the Tappan Zee Bridge at $5 for at least the next four years, according to lohud.com

The proposed spending, about $700 million of which would go toward the New York State Thruway Authority’s infrastructure costs, also would keep tolls across the entire Thruway system the same until 2020, according to lohud.com.

While Cuomo’s idea was met with criticism from fiscal watchdogs, local officials widely lauded the plan, according to lohud.com.
