The program, which has been running for five years, was presented by Pearl River Middle School in partnership with South Orangetown Community Awareness of Substance Abuse (S.O.C.A.S.A.) and the Orangetown Police Department.
The after-school club met weekly, and covered topics such as cyberbullying and Internet safety (Facebook, texting, Instagram and other social media), drug and alcohol dangers, dealing with peer pressure, as well as interacting with police, according to a statement on the Orangetown Police Department's Facebook page.
The department congratulated the youngsters for successfully completing the program.
