Officers from the Orangetown Police Department were on patrol shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday when they stopped 54-year-old Highland Mills resident Anne Primrose for committing a traffic violation in Pearl River.

During the subsequent stop, officers reported that Primrose was allegedly operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. She was arrested and transported to Orangetown Police Headquarters, where she refused to take a breathalyzer test to determine her blood alcohol content.

Primrose was charged with a misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated and released on her own recognizance. She is due back in Orangetown Justice Court on Nov. 8 to answer the charge.
