Orangetown detectives arrested 26-year-old James Shea and Jonathan Shashoua, 19, on Tuesday and charged them with 11 misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief for their alleged tagging spree, which lasted several hours in September.
Police said that from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sept. 19, it is alleged that Shea and Shashoua spray-painted graffiti throughout the village, including the new Nyack Skate Park in Memorial Park, where one of the ramps was tagged with "Vote 4 Trump," causing thousands of dollars in damage.
The department released video of the suspects following the incident and the investigation led them to Shea and Shashoua. Following their arrests, both were processed at Orangetown Police Headquarters on the charges and arraigned in Nyack Justice Court. They are both due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
