Teen Caught Stealing $600 Designer Handbag From Car In Nyack, Police Say

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - A Rockland County teenager was arrested by Orangetown police after being busted for allegedly stealing a designer handbag from a parked car.

Shortly after 7:15 p.m. on Friday, April 28, police arrested 19-year-old Orangeburg resident Griffin Urruttia-Orme on a larceny charge after he allegedly was caught with a stolen Louis Vuitton handbag.

According to police, it is alleged that Urruttia-Orme entered a parked, unlocked car on First Avenue in Nyack and removed the bag, which has a value of approximately $600. Urruttia-Orme was arrested by responding officers and charged with a misdemeanor charge of petit larceny.

Urruttia-Orme was processed and released on his own recognizance. He is due back in Nyack Justice Court on Friday, May 5.
