Police Charge Nyack Man With Choking Victim In Domestic Dispute

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police arrested a 29-year-old Nyack resident on multiple charges after he allegedly hit and choked a woman during a domestic incident.

The suspect, identified as Vincent Berlingeri, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing, criminal mischief in the fourth degree, petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, all misdemeanors, according to police. 

He was also charged with second degree harassment, a violation, according to officials.

Berlingeri allegedly choked a female, struck her about the head and face, and stole and damaged some of her personal items, according to police. 

He was arrested and transported to Orangetown Police Headquarters on Wednesday, June 15, at approximately 9:30 p.m., according to officials.

Berlingeri was arraigned at Nyack Justice Court and transported to Rockland County Jail, police reported.
