During a ceremony that was attended by everyone from residents to firefighters and police officers, a 50-foot-by-30-foot American flag was hung from the ladders of two fire trucks as those gathered stood for 20 minutes of silence, said Lohud.com.
Piermont Fire Chief Daniel Goswick opened the ceremony with brief remarks before clergymen offered words of comfort and those gathered sang along with the National Anthem as they held candles, added Lohud.com.
