Piermont FD Will Hold Candlelight Vigil For Dallas Officers Sunday

PIERMONT, N.Y. -- The Piermont Fire Department will be hosting a candlelight vigil on Sunday, July 17, to honor the fallen Dallas Police Department and Dallas Area Rapid Transit officers.

Piermont is hosting a candlelight vigil on Sunday evening, in remembrance of the Dallas officers killed last week.

As a peaceful protest over fatal police shootings of African-American men in Louisiana and Minnesota drew to a close in Dallas last Thursday, a gunman opened fire on police officers. Four police officers and one DART officer were killed, and seven officers were wounded.

The vigil is set to begin at 8 p.m. in Flywheel Park, Piermont.
