Pair Chase Down Suspect In Nyack After Attempted Theft From Car, Police Say

NYACK, N.Y. – A Nyack man has been accused of trying to steal items from an unlocked car in the village, Orangetown police said.

The owner told police that he saw a man, identified as 34-year-old Zhoubin Yang, rummaging around in his vehicle on Franklin Street around 12:13 a.m. Saturday.

The unidentified man and a friend chased Yang down and held him until police officers arrived.

Yang was charged with attempted petit larceny, a misdemeanor, police said.

He was released on an unidentified amount of bail and is to appear in Nyack Justice Court on Tuesday, March 14.
