O'Sullivan was remembered as having "the best qualities of police officers," ex-Rockland County Legislator John Murphy told lohud.com.

O’Sullivan retired in January from the Orangetown Police Department, then continued in law enforcement, working part time for South Nyack/Grand View Police Chief Brent Newbury until his death from cancer, said lohud.com.

A Monday morning funeral was scheduled for O'Sullivan at St. Gregory Barbarigo Roman Catholic Church in Garnerville, according to lohud.com.
