The national Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for dealing with extreme heat are tips local residents should review, said Orangetown Police.
Summer heat can be dangerous to seniors, infants and kids, and those with medical conditions, according to police.
"Extremely hot weather can cause sickness and even death," the CDC said.
