Police received a call reporting the explosion at the plant at 2 Glenshaw St. in Orangeburg, around 8:50 a.m., according to officials.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that a man who works for the company had sustained burn injuries to his hands, arms and facial area from an electrical system, police report.
The victim was treated at the scene by Orangetown police, the South Orangetown Ambulance Corp and Rockland County Paramedics, according to officials.
The victim was transported to the Westchester Medical Center by ambulance for further treatment, police report.
The Rockland County Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded to the scene to assist with the investigation, according to officials.
It was determined that an electrical incident was to blame, and that chemicals were not involved, police report.
The Orangetown Police Department’s Detective Bureau and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are currently investigating the matter.
