The events include:
On Tuesday, Jan. 17, a homeowner on Guteri Terrace in Pearl River reported that she left her home at 11:30 a.m. and when she returned several hours later she noticed a puncture wound on the left side of her dog which required 15 stitches, police said.
Police said there was no forced entry and nothing was taken from the home. At this time, it's unknown what happened to the dog.
On Tuesday, Jan. 24, between 12:15 and 5:15 a.m. unknown suspects entered through the garage door of a home on McKinley Street in Pearl River and removed a small safe containing personal papers, several cases of beer and some wine bottles, police said.
The suspects did not try to enter the house. An investigation discovered that the intruders entered the garage by using the garage door opened in the unlocked vehicle of the homeowner, police said.
