Orangetown Police Arrest Pair Of Suspects On Drug Possession Charges

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- Orangetown police charged two men in separate incidents with drug possession following traffic stops, according to the Orangetown Police.

Steeve Salomon, 26, of Nanuet, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance after police stopped him around 4:20 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27 for a traffic violation, police said.

During the stop, police found 10 envelopes of heroin, crack cocaine and numerous pills, police said.

He was released on $1,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 14.

In a separate stop, officers arrested Adityendra Thakur, 22, of Valley Cottage for criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana after being stopped for a traffic violation on Main Street at 12:52 a.m. on Tuesday, police said.

Officers uncovered a small quantity of cocaine and marijuana during the stop, police said.

Thakur was released on $100 bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 9.
