Jason J. Britt was also charged with marijuana possession, a violation, after police later found the drug during a search, police said. He's charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault and resisting arrest, police said.

He's being held on $1,000 cash bail at Rockland County Jail and is due back in court at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Nyack Justice Court, police said.

Police said Britt was involved in a fight during which he hit another man several times in the face. The other man was treated for cuts at Nyack Hospital, police said.

When police tried to arrest him, he refused to be handcuffed and started swinging and flailing his arms, police said.
