Nyack Man Hits One Woman With Bat, Punches Another, Police Say

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Nyack man is facing multiple charges after he struck a woman with a metal bat and punched another woman inside a Nyack Plaza apartment on Monday, May 1, Orangetown Police said.

Demetrice Young, 26, then allegedly held one of the women inside the apartment against her will, police said.

Orangetown Police responded and made entry into the apartment, where Young was apprehended without incident.

Young was charged with felony assault, third-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful imprisonment.

Young was arraigned and transported to Rockland County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail.
