Michal Hrebik, 23, of Park Ridge, was arrested on Sunday, March 20, by officers who had been called to the scene of a damaged vehicle on Route 304 in Pearl River, police said.
Hrebik was identified as the suspect, but when police tried to cuff him, he flailed his arms, shoved officers, and refused to put his hands behind his back, police said.
Hrebik is now also charged with second-degree assault, a felony; resisting arrest, a misdemeanor; second-degree obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor; and second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct, both violations.
One of the officers sustained a hand injury that required medical attention, police said.
Hrebik is to appear in Orangetown Justice Court on Wednesday, March 23, to answer the charges, police said.
