Man Has License Revoked 38 Times, Orangetown PD Says

ORANGETOWN, N.Y. -- A Pennsylvania man stopped for a traffic violation was charged in Orangeburg after police determined his license had been suspended and revoked 38 times in New York, according to police.

Jeffrey Purcell, 29, of Stroudsburg, Pa., was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a felony, said Orangetown police.

Police conducted the traffic stop at 11:30 p.m. and reportedly determined Purcell's license was revoked for numerous reasons that included failure to pay fines and traffic summonses, they said.

He was arrested and taken to Orangetown Police headquarters where he was charged, arraigned, and then released. Purcell was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
