Man Charged With Making Fraudulent Credit Card Purchases In Orangetown

A 32-year-old resident of Poughkeepsie has been charged with identity theft following an investigation conducted by the Orangetown Police Department’s Detective Bureau.

The suspect, identified as Brian Lee, was arrested on Wednesday, July 6, at approximately 4:03 p.m., police report.

Lee is accused of using another individual’s credit card number to make numerous unauthorized purchases, along with allegedly forging the individual’s name on documentation in order to make the transactions, according to officials.

Lee was charged with identity theft in the second degree, along with second degree forgery, both felonies, police report.

The defendant was arraigned at Orangetown Justice Court, according to officials.

He is due to reappear in court on Monday, Sept. 12, police report.
