Man Charged With Illegally Entering Pearl River Home

PEARL RIVER, N.Y. -- A Long Island man is facing charges after police accused him of violating an order of protection.

According to Orangetown police, Scott E. Bennett, 29, of Bellmore, was arrested Monday after he allegedly entered a home in Pearl River in violation of the order.

A woman at the home called police to complain.

He was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor; and second-degree criminal trespass, also a misdemeanor, police said.

Bennett was arraigned in Orangetown Court and sent to Rockland County Jail on $1,500 bail.
