Man Charged In Theft Caught On Video At Pearl River Brew House

A 20-year-old from River Vale, NJ was charged on Monday after Orangetown Police released a video of a suspect stealing an American flag at a Pearl River restaurant.

Camera footage was recovered of the suspect in a white T-shirt and dark pants who tore an American flag hanging from outside the Brew House in Pearl River on July 22, prompting police to ask for the public's help in locating him.

Brandon K. Gartrell was charged with petit larceny after what police described as a short investigation. He was processed and released and is due back in Orangetown Court on Tuesday.
