Man Caught In Haverstraw After Stealing SUV In Orangeburg, Police Say

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- A 25-year-old Stony Point man was apprehended in Haverstraw after stealing an SUV in Orangeburg, according to Orangetown Police.

Christopher Yacoob was charged with grand larceny after a victim reported his 2017 Ford Edge was stolen overnight on Thursday, May 18. After a police investigation, the vehicle was retrieved in Piermont and Yacoob arrested in Haverstraw.

Yacoob was processed at Orangetown Police Headquarters, arraigned in Orangetown Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail on $2,500 bail.
