Garnerville Man Driving Wrong Way In Nyack Was Drunk, Police Say

NYACK, N.Y. -- A Garnerville man driving the wrong way on a one-way street on Sunday in Nyack was driving drunk, according to the Orangetown police.

Patrick Fuchs, 27, was stopped at 4:39 a.m., by officers when they noticed him driving the wrong way down High Avenue, police said.

When officers approached Fuchs, they could smell alcohol and observed that he had glassy eyes and slurred speech, police added.

After failing several field sobriety tests, police found that he was also in possession of marijuana and was driving on a suspended license, police said.

Fuchs was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving without a license and possession of marijuana. He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on March 14.
